If you would like to visit on a weekend, our Sunday school begins at 9:00 AM and our worship service at 10:15 AM. First Baptist Church of Opelousas is made up of people of all ages and from all walks of life—including first-time church-goers and others looking for a new church family. We understand that visiting a church can be intimidating, so we want to help make your first visit a great one by letting you know what to expect.

Be Yourself!
When you visit First Baptist Church of Opelousas, we invite you to be yourself and make yourself comfortable. You will be greeted as you arrive and can ask for assistance from any of our ushers.
General Information
At the Information Center, between the main entrance and the auditorium, you can pick up a bulletin that explains how to get connected, along with other updates from ministries at our church. If you would like to follow up with a pastor, fill out the communication card you’ll find in our program and let us know you visited. You can return it to the Information Center when you are ready.
Check in for Kids and Students
Nursery-6th grade Sunday school classes are offered at 9:00AM. You are welcome to check your kids into their classes up to the time classes begin. There is a check in station by the nursery. Our kids ministry leaders are here to help you get settled and welcome your kids as they go to class.
Junior high and senior high students are invited to classes at 9:00AM as well. During this time in the student ministries room, they will have the opportunity to build lasting friendships, study God’s word, and worship together.
Participate at Your Pace
You can choose to sing, pray, talk at your own pace. There is no pressure to participate. Our greatest desire is that you experience God while here. If you have questions, feel free to pull aside any of our ushers or ministry staff for assistance.
What to Expect During The Service:
During each service, we will sing a few worship songs, announcements will be given, church members will pass the offering plate, a pastor will give a sermon that focuses on the Bible and how it applies to your life. Every fifth Sunday, Jesus followers will have the opportunity to take communion during the service and everyone is invited to receive prayer after the service. Once the service ends, feel free to hang out and meet people.
